Lithionics Battery® uses an organic Lithium-ion Iron Phosphate chemistry in all of our lithium battery models. This naturally safe chemistry is paired with an internal shut down curtain technology inside each lithium cell, preventing any flame or explosion from thermal runaway events. During use, the NeverDie® Battery Management System is continually monitoring each lithium cell every second to ensure the safest operation of your system. Lithionics Battery’s safety technology has been validated by third party accredited facilities such as Underwriter Laboratory for UL listing. This agency certifies that our Lithium-ion Iron Phosphate battery systems with our NeverDie® Battery Management System technology remain safe even under extreme test conditions.

Chemistry & Cell Safety

Lithionics Battery® uses and promotes organic Lithium-ion Iron Phosphate chemistry in our lithium battery systems. Lithium-ion Iron Phosphate exists in nature in both discharged and charged forms; consequently both minerals are stable. The oxygen in the phosphate is fixed to the phosphorus by strong covalent bonds. Other inorganic lithium chemistries, especially nickelates, release oxygen when heated to >230 Degrees C during thermal runaway events, resulting in violent reactions. This is not a concern with Lithionics Battery’s products. In addition to a naturally safe chemistry, Lithionics Battery® goes one step further to include an internal shut down curtain technology, which separates the anode and cathode during thermal runaway events. This completely shuts down the thermal reaction.

Pack Design & Cell Types

Lithionics Battery® utilizes large format prismatic cells for reliable and more efficient battery connections. Our battery models are designed and engineered to use superior large format prismatic lithium cells, eliminating failure points associated with using smaller cylindrical lithium cells. Additionally, a proprietary miniBMS® micro-controller is installed on every voltage string connection for cell monitoring and balancing.

 

miniBMS®

Lithionics Battery® uses it’s own proprietary system called miniBMS® with cell monitoring modules communicating with a control unit. miniBMS® monitors cell voltage, temperature, and relays this information to the master NeverDie® battery management system. The BMS is capable of disconnecting the battery circuit based on the signal received from the miniBMS®.
